Ball Valves:Ball Valves are a shut off valve that controls the flow of a liquid or gas by a rotary bal.. By rotating the ball a quarter (90-degrees), the medium can flow through or be blocked. These type of valves have a long service life and provide a reliable sealing making them a popular shut off valve.

Butterfly Valves:Butterfly Valves isolate or regulate the flow of a fluid via a disk that rotates open and closed. This operation is similar to a ball valve as it allows for quick shut off but generally cost less than other valve designs and are lighter weight. Rotating the actuator turns the disc either parallel or perpendicular to the flow. Of note, the disc is always present within the flow so it induces a pressure drop even when open.

Check Valves:Check Valves are two-port valves, meaning they have two openings in the body, one for fluid to enter and the other for fluid to leave. There are many different types of check valves including a ball check valve, diaphragm check valve, swing check valve, tilting disc check valve, stop-check valve, lift-check valve, in-line check valve, duckbill valve, reed valve, and a flow check valve. Check valves are used in pumps (condensate and sump), industrial processes, and domestic use.

Gate Valves:Gate Valves, also known as a sluice valve, opens by lifting a barrier (gate) out of the path of fluid. Benefits of gate valves include small space requirements and very little restriction of fluid flow when the gate is fully opened. Gate valves are most commonly used with large pipe diameters.
